Volleyball Recap: Helix Highlanders vs. Granite Hills Eagles
Helix was the 3-2 winner over Granite Hills when they last played one another on October 7th, but their luck changed this time around. The Highlanders fell 3-1 to the Eagles on Thursday.
The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-20, 22-25, 25-19.
Leading Granite Hills to victory were Mackenna Palmer and Skyler Riley. Palmer had 18 digs and two aces, while Riley had 13 digs, six kills, and two blocks. Palmer is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last nine games she's played.
Helix has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-20 record this season. As for Granite Hills, they pushed their record up to 18-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Looking ahead, Helix will head out on the road to challenge Coronado at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Granite Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
