Basketball Game Preview: Delphi Community Oracles vs. Taylor Titans

Delphi Community is 1-8 against Taylor since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Oracles will be home for the holidays to greet the Titans at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Taylor will be up against a hot Delphi Community squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Oracles came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 71-65 W against Clinton Prairie.

Meanwhile, Taylor hadn't done well against Northwestern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Titans simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 57-13. With the Titans ahead 24-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Taylor's win came from a few key players Delphi Community will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Javionne Harris, who shot 78% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Those six assists gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keyshawn Galloway, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 17 points and three steals.

Taylor now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Delphi Community, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Delphi Community came up short against Taylor in their previous matchup back in January, falling 39-33. Can the Oracles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
