Softball Game Preview: Wagner Red Raiders vs. Avon Pirates

The Wagner Red Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Avon Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Wagner's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Monday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sioux Falls Christian hit Wagner with a five-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Raiders came up short against the Chargers, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Avon made easy work of Centerville on Thursday and carried off a 23-8 victory. Considering the Pirates have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Wagner's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for Avon, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
