Basketball Recap: Thornridge Comes Up Short

Thornridge lost against Thornton back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Thornridge Falcons took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thornton Wildcats.

Leading Thornton to victory were Jordan Maple and Deandre Higgs. Maple went 7 for 12 on his way to 21 points, while Higgs went 7 of 10 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Maple a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Fourte, who posted seven points and nine rebounds.

Thornridge's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Thornton, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5.

Thornridge and Phillips will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thornton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-46 defeat against Hammond Central on the 21st.
