Conant and Jacobs are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Cougars will face off against the Golden Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Conant is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Hersey hit Conant with a six-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars lost 13-2 to the Huskies.

Conant saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Tutt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Jacobs fell victim to Huntley and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 1-0. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Spencer Drummond was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk).

Jacobs' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Conant, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1.

Conant couldn't quite finish off Jacobs when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
