Softball Recap: Mundelein Mustangs vs. Loyola Academy Ramblers
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mundelein couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Loyola Academy Ramblers by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Mustangs haven't been shut out since back in May.
Sophia Zepeda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mundelein saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Hill, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
