Basketball Recap: Beauregard Takes a Loss

Beauregard lost against Valley last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Beauregard Hornets had to suffer through a 62-33 loss at the hands of the Valley Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered since February 9, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Beauregard lost, don't look at Kam Torbert. Despite the final result, she posted 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Torbert has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lay Clark, who earned three points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Beauregard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Beauregard's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beauregard has already played their next contest (against Loachapoka), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Valley has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Elmore County.
