Football Recap: Thomasville Starts off Right with Win over Brooks County + How To Watch

Thomasville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Brooks County Trojans to the tune of 35-7. With the Bulldogs ahead 25-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Thomasville had a senior duo take command as Cam Hill rushed for 67 yards and two TDs on only nine carries and Lavonte Cole rushed for 82 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Thomasville proved: they limited Brooks County to a paltry 0.3 yards per carry. While three picked up at least five total tackles, Zay Clark stood above the rest. He picked up four sacks and made five total tackles (5.0 for loss). Thomasville didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.

Thomasville's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. In that department, Clark was the leader with four. Joe Douglas was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Looking ahead, Thomasville will venture away from home to square off against Pelham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Brooks County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cook at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
