Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Roosevelt rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Granite Hills Grizzlies as they made off with an 11-1 victory. Considering the Rough Riders have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cruz Diego was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

The win (which was Roosevelt's eighth in a row) raised their record to 19-7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Granite Hills, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-14-1 record.

Looking ahead, Roosevelt will take on Boron at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rough Riders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 12.9 runs per game this season. Granite Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
