Perry came out on top against Madison  on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Pirates blew past the Blue Streaks 14-6. Considering the Pirates have won eight games by more than seven  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Sophie Sivon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on 12 hits and racked up eight Ks.
 On the hitting side, Perry let  Arianna Rogers and  Rosalyn Tharp run wild. Rogers  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI, while  Tharp  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.  Elise Strahan was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Perry  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. They are 9-1 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
Perry is  on a roll lately: they've  won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Madison, their loss  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 9-3.
 Coming up, Perry will challenge Mt. Vernon at 4:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Madison, they will head out to  face off against Conneaut  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Blue Streaks are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
