Basketball Recap: Anoka Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Anoka won the last time they faced Blaine and things went their way on Friday too. The Anoka Tornadoes managed an 84-78 victory over the Blaine Bengals. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Bengals are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anoka's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Blaine, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

Anoka will square off against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blaine, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Robbinsdale Armstrong at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Robbinsdale Armstrong's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.
