Basketball Game Preview: Hardin Hornets vs. Warren Warriors

Hardin and Warren are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Hardin Hornets will host the Warren Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Hardin and three for Warren.

On Tuesday, Hardin was beaten by Orangefield 91-33. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1434th, while the Bobcats are ranked 373rd).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Warren was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Kountze, falling 100-25. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Warren's loss dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Hardin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Hardin skirted past Warren 51-49 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Hardin repeat their success, or does Warren have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
