Football Recap: Weimar's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Weimar came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 38-16 to the Holy Cross Knights. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 27-17 to the Knights when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rocky Orozco was his usual excellent self, throwing for 167 yards and four TDs on only ten passes for Holy Cross. Those four passing touchdowns gave Orozco a new career-high. Taylor Flores helped Orozco out on the ground, rushing for 140 yards and one score while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.

Having lost for the first time this season, Weimar fell to 3-1. As for Holy Cross, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Weimar and Holy Cross will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wildcats are set to face off against their familiar foe Schulenburg at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. Meanwhile, Holy Cross will take on rival New Braunfels Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
