Baseball Recap: Kiski Area Takes a Loss

Kiski Area lost against Plum on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-6. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dimitri Spagnola and John Deluca stepped up to the plate in a big way. Spagnola went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Deluca went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Spagnola has become a key player for Kiski Area: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-9 otherwise.

Kiski Area's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Plum, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Kiski Area will be playing in front of their home fans against Penn-Trafford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Plum, they will head out to square off against Franklin Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
