Preview: Benson Bunnies vs. Creighton Prep Junior Jays
Benson is 0-3 against Creighton Prep since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Benson Bunnies will look to defend their home field against the Creighton Prep Junior Jays at 7:00 p.m. Benson comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Benson fell victim to Omaha Central's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Eagles 51-0.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, Creighton Prep were a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They were outmatched by Papillion-LaVista at home and fell 34-7. Creighton Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Benson's defeat was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Papillion-LaVista and 7-1 Omaha North (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.5% over those games). As for Creighton Prep, they have fallen quite a ways from their 8-4 record last season and are now at 3-5.
Benson was taken down by Creighton Prep 44-13 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Benson have more luck at home instead of on the road?
