Softball Recap: Lower Merion Takes a Loss

If Lower Merion was feeling good fresh off their 15-4 takedown of Cheltenham last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lower Merion Aces took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chichester Eagles on Tuesday.

Carly Breen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Breen is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Gilligan, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Lower Merion's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Chichester, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lower Merion will square off against Conestoga at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Lower Merion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Chichester, they will challenge Strath Haven at 3:45 p.m. on March 27th.
