Softball Recap: Nitro Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Nitro faced off against Lincoln County on Monday. The Wildcats came up short against the Panthers, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in March.

Nitro has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Lincoln County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Coincidentally, Nitro and Lincoln County will both be playing Ripley the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
