Baseball Game Preview: Cordova Blue Devils vs. Tarrant Wildcats

For the second straight game, Cordova will face off against Tarrant. The Blue Devils will welcome the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cordova is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Cordova is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Tarrant on Tuesday as they made off with a 25-1 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Blue Devils with their most commanding win of the season.

Nolan Archibald made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Cordova is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 7-11 otherwise. Archibald was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas Vance, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Jackson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

Cordova kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tarrant only managed one hit.

Tarrant is on a 40-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17. As for Cordova, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
