Christian Learning Center falls despite strong effort from Ryan Koch

The Christian Learning Center Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Clinton Christian Academy at home by a decisive 53-38 margin. Christian Learning Center was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clinton Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Christian Learning Center lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Koch. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Koch pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Hill, who scored ten points along with six steals.

Clinton Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Raymond Hood led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Jared Wisniewski was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Christian Learning Center has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Clinton Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Christian Learning Center will head out on the road to challenge Chanute Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Clinton Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Overland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Overland Christian is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
