Basketball Recap: Starmount Comes Up Short

Starmount was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a blow against the South Stokes Sauras, falling 75-32. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Corey Armstrong and Sean Gregory certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Armstrong dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards, while Gregory posted eight points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Armstrong a new career-high in rebounds.

Even though they lost, Starmount smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Starmount's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for South Stokes, their win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Starmount wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-53 loss against Alleghany on the 17th. South Stokes has also already played their next contest, a 60-38 victory against North Stokes on the 17th.
