Preview: Chaparral Bobcats vs. Killeen Kangaroos
Chaparral has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Killeen Kangaroos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chaparral focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
Chaparral suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2023 on Wednesday. They suffered a rough 73-47 defeat at the hands of Belton. While losing is never fun, Chaparral can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Belton is ranked 116th).
Chaparral's defeat came about despite a quality game from CJ Norwood, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Brad Miles was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Killeen's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 65-47 bruising from University. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Killeen in their matchups with University: they've now lost four in a row.
Chaparral has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season. As for Killeen, they bumped their record down to 3-21 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Chaparral took their win against Killeen in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 62-40. Does Chaparral have another victory up their sleeve, or will Killeen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
