Softball Recap: Gray Stone Day Comes Up Short

If Gray Stone Day was riding high fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Forest Hills last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gray Stone Day Knights came up short against the Wheatmore Warriors on Friday, falling 15-3. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.

Cheyenne Efird was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lynley Pittman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gray Stone Day fell to 2-1. As for Wheatmore, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Gray Stone Day will take on Montgomery Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wheatmore, they will square off against Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
