Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Weir's Winning Streak

Weir dropped their record down to 26-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 4-1 to the University Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Riders of the 10-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for University, they pushed their record up to 24-5-1 with the victory, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games.

For University's part, the team relied heavily on Olivia Masoner, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Whitney Cox, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Weir nor University have any future games scheduled.
