Basketball Recap: Potomac Wolverines vs. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South
Even though Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, the Potomac Wolverines still came out on top. Potomac snuck past the with a 64-60 victory. Winning is a bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, as Potomac did.
Roy Palmer had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayron Bohulano, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaiah Grey, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Grey is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Auston Jackson, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Potomac is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Potomac will be playing at home against the Pumas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South, they will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Douglass knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 contests -- so hopefully the like a good challenge.
