Basketball Recap: Hilltop Christian Comes Up Short

Hilltop Christian had taken Oak Forest down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The contest between the Chargers and the Warriors didn't end well, with the Chargers falling 54-38. The game marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Loss or not, Hilltop Christian got some senior leadership from Alan Blake and Joseph McCabe. Blake shot 42% from the field on his way to 15 points, while McCabe went 6-for-8 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds. McCabe is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oak Forest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryder Zingelmann, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Jack Hunter was another key player, shooting 45% from the field to rack up 16 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Hilltop Christian and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Oak Forest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Hilltop Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 34-22 victory against Liberty Christian on the 24th. As for Oak Forest, they are taking a road trip to square off against DASH at 6:30 p.m. on December 1. The Warriors will need to watch out since the United have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
