Softball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage couldn't beat Emerson on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Coyotes lost 24-4 to the Mavericks. The Coyotes have struggled against the Mavericks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Heritage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Ringgenberg, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Marissa Mitchell was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Emerson, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Heritage will take on Lake Highlands at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.6 runs per game on average), something the Coyotes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Emerson, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Frisco at 6:00 p.m.
