Recap: South Spencer Rebels vs. Springs Valley Blackhawks
The South Spencer Rebels''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 36-33 to Springs Valley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Springs Valley had a senior duo take command as Konner Chase rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns and Larron Childers rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Childers was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
South Spencer's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Heritage Hills and 7-3 Southridge (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 78.4% over those games). As for Springs Valley, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
South Spencer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Springs Valley will look to defend their home field on Friday against West Washington at 7:00 p.m.
