Softball Preview: Classical Purple vs. Central Falls Warriors

Classical is 6-1 against Central Falls since April of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Classical Purple will head out on the road to take on the Central Falls Warriors at 5:00 p.m. The last four games Classical has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Tuesday, Classical narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Juanita Sanchez Complex 13-12. That's two games straight that Classical has won by just one run.

Vivian Hoffman and Maria Ramos did most of the damage at the plate: Hoffman got two hits, while Ramos got two hits. Hoffman is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Lynnaly Luciano, who got a hit.

Meanwhile, Central Falls put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Times Squared Academy 12-2. Fans of Central Falls have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout.

Chloe Acosta was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Acosta was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Arghennis Disla was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing six bases while going 2-for-3. LC Collins was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Classical's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-0-1. As for Central Falls, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
