Baseball Recap: Mohave Comes Up Short

Mohave had lost 15 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-17 to make it 16. They came up short against the Mingus Marauders, falling 11-2. If the Thunderbirds were looking for revenge after losing 13-3 to the Marauders when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mohave saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayan Montoya, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

As for Mingus, they now have a winning record of 10-9. Considering they have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Mingus' side, Tanner Brewer made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Brewer has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Mingus: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

While Mohave had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
