Game recap: Ensworth High School Football Team beats Montgomery Bell Academy

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Ensworth (Nashville, Tenn.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used 14 fourth quarter points to seal the 35-7 victory over Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville, Tenn.).

After taking the lead on a Cornelius Elder touchdown run in the first quarter, the Tigers led 21-7 at the half.

The loss snapped the Big Red's 4-game winning streak.

Ensworth's standout player in the win was Elder. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. A member of the Top 25 Athletes, Elder has now scored 38 touchdowns on the season.

Montgomery Bell Academy's lone touchdown came on a 5-yard run in the second quarter.



MBA came in surrendering 14.6 points per game this season. The Big Red struggled against EHS, which came in averaging 40.8 points per game. The Tigers came into the game allowing 10.4 points per game.

When the two teams played each other last season, Ensworth came away with a 52-10 victory.

The defeat comes as a step back for Montgomery Bell Academy, which notched a 36-21 victory over Christian Brothers in its previous outing.
