Softball Recap: Green Hope Falcons vs. Panther Creek Catamounts
After flying high against Wake Prep Academy on Wednesday, Green Hope came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panther Creek Catamounts on Thursday. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Catamounts earlier this season, when they won 8-4.
Rachael Baldyga put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off nine hits. Baldyga was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Baldyga wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Cerneka, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
Green Hope's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Panther Creek, their record now sits at 6-8.
Green Hope has already played their next game, a 5-4 defeat against Green Level on the 25th. As for Panther Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-4 loss against Apex Friendship on the 25th.
