Basketball Recap: Flagler Palm Coast Comes Up Short

After flying high against Seabreeze last Tuesday, Flagler Palm Coast came back down to earth. The Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs had to suffer through a 53-22 loss at the hands of The Villages Charter Buffalo. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Flagler Palm Coast's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kierra Clark, who posted 12 points, and Alexandra Perez, who scored five points and six rebounds. Perez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Leading The Villages Charter to victory were Zion Mcrae and Herva Brutus. Mcrae went 7 for 13 en route to 22 points in addition to six assists and five boards, while Brutus went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Mcrae has posted since back in November of 2024. Amiyah Flowers was another key player, putting up seven points.

Flagler Palm Coast moved to 12-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for The Villages Charter, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.

Flagler Palm Coast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-40 defeat against Episcopal School of Jacksonville on the 15th. As for The Villages Charter, they will face off against Buchholz at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
