Basketball Recap: Carolina Academy Comes Up Short

Carolina Academy lost against Powdersville last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Carolina Academy Trojans lost to the Powdersville Patriots at home by a 54-37 margin. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Patriots are ranked 58th).

Raegan Bryant continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Powdersville, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Bryant a new career-high in steals (six). Makayla Assemian was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine boards.

Carolina Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Powdersville, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.

Carolina Academy has already played their next match (against St. Joseph's Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Powdersville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-24 win against Christ Church Episcopal on the 4th.
