Baseball Recap: Appleton West Comes Up Short

Appleton West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-1 to the Oshkosh West Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Tuesday.

Appleton West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William Malnar, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Appleton West's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Oshkosh West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Appleton West and Oshkosh West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Terrors will challenge Kaukauna at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (306 vs. 22). Meanwhile, Oshkosh West (ranked 130th) will meet Neenah (ranked 20th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
