Baseball Recap: Foard Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Lincoln, Foard was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Hickory Red Tornadoes 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Red Tornadoes since March 29, 2022.

Landon Setzer was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Foard is undefeated when Setzer posts two or more runs, but 1-9 otherwise. George Colman also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Foard's record is now 4-9. As for Hickory, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Hickory has already played their next game, a 15-6 victory against Hibriten on the 2nd. Hopefully Foard payed attention to the Red Tornadoes' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Red Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
