Basketball Recap: Legacy Comes Up Short

Legacy and Sierra Vista squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Legacy had to settle for second. They came up short against the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions, falling 97-71. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Longhorns of the 70-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2016.

Sierra Vista got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was EJ Dacuma out in front who went 11-for-19 to rack up 27 points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most points Dacuma has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Knoll, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Legacy's loss dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Sierra Vista, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-5.

Legacy has already played their next matchup, an 88-79 defeat against Clark on the 14th. As for Sierra Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-60 win against Rancho on the 14th.
