Volleyball Recap: Summertown Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

There's no place like home for Summertown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lewis County Panthers on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Summertown took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-9, 25-10.

Summertown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amelia Emerson out in front who had 21 kills. Emerson has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 38 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoei Bonner, who had 35 assists.

Summertown pushed their record up to 33-8 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Lewis County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season.

Summertown will take on Columbia Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lewis County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
