Perris is 2-8 against Lakeside since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 3:15 p.m. Perris will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Perris is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Rancho Christian with a sharp 22-7 victory on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Priscilla Diaz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Diaz was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Perris got a massive performance out of Anahi Morales, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with six stolen bases and four runs. Those six stolen bases gave Morales a new career-high. Carina Castaneda was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with five runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Perris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .574. They are 5-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Lakeside hadn't done well against Temecula Valley recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Lancers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Golden Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lancers have posted since April 5th.
Like Perris, Lakeside also got a great game from a two-way player: Michaela Alverado. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Alverado has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Savana Swick was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Sotelo, who earned two RBI and one run.
Lakeside's victory bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Perris, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Perris' speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Panthers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lakeside, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Perris continue to outrun the ball?
