Josette Aparicio made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Taft got a massive performance out of Jewelysa Garcia, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Garcia also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Juliana Alaniz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Taft always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Taft pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for West Oso, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.
