Basketball Recap: Elba Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Elba challenged Georgiana on Thursday. The Elba Tigers came up short against the Georgiana Panthers, falling 72-52. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Panthers are ranked 79th).

Elba's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Georgiana, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.

Elba didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-41 win against McKenzie on the 25th. Georgiana has also already played their next game, a 76-59 victory against Brantley on the 25th.
