Softball Recap: Senn Beats Mather for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Senn had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They blew past the Mather Rangers 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Audrey Lebovitz made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, six RBI, and three doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Ericka Ako was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Pippa Gerharz, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

Senn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in six consecutive matches.

Senn's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mather, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rangers beat Senn by a score of 11-4 on Friday.
