Recap: The Pingry School Big Blue vs. Riverdale Country Falcons
The Pingry School Big Blue were the 27-8 winner over the Riverdale Country Falcons when they last played one another back in October of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Pingry School was just a hair shy of victory on Saturday and fell 23-22 to Riverdale Country. The Pingry School has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The Pingry School's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mike Hollomon iii, who threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Josh Woodford was another key contributor, rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for James Spiegel, who rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 209 yards and a touchdown.
The Pingry School's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Riverdale Country, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
The Pingry School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Riverdale Country will head out on the road to face off against Poly Prep Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poly Prep Country Day presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Riverdale Country in New York (Poly Prep Country Day is ranked 42nd, while Riverdale Country is ranked 296th).
