Softball Game Preview: Osborn Knights vs. Lutheran Northwest Crusaders

The Osborn Knights will head out to take on the Lutheran Northwest Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Osborn has given up an average of 15.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Osborn heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They came up short against King, falling 31-21. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (14), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Lutheran hit Lutheran Northwest with a four-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Alyssa Parets made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Julia Conners, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Osborn's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. Those road losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Lutheran Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
