Baseball Recap: Eastside Early College Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Eastside Early College was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Manor New Tech, falling 9-2. The Panthers haven't had much luck with Manor New Tech recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Joseph Nuncio was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Nuncio wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aydan Aguilar, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Eastside Early College's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Manor New Tech, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Manor New Tech beat Eastside Early College by a score of 13-3 on Friday.
