Heritage waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They had just enough and edged the Liberty Christian Bulldogs out 61-58. This was a revenge game for the Pioneers: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in December of 2024, they had to take a 59-44 defeat.

Despite the loss, Liberty Christian still got an impressive performance from Jisaiah Bryant, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 25 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Bryant a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre Smith, who posted ten points.

Heritage has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Liberty Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will square off against Amherst County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage is facing Amherst County at the right time seeing as Amherst County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Liberty Christian, they will challenge Rustburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Rustburg likes a good challenge.
