Volleyball Game Preview: Syracuse Titans vs. Skyline Eagles

The Syracuse Titans are taking a road trip to challenge the Skyline Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Syracuse is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Corner Canyon, who was ranked fourth at the time (Syracuse was ranked eighth). The Titans lost 3-0 to the Chargers on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost four in a row.

While Syracuse ultimately came up short, they really made Corner Canyon work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-20, 25-20, 25-17.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Skyline duked it out with Skyridge on Wednesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-20 in the first set.

Skyline took Skyridge into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-10, 23-25, 15-8.

Syracuse's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Skyline, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
