Basketball Recap: St. Michael Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Michael had won two straight games and Ryan Legah did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The Cardinals claimed a resounding 64-22 victory over the Greyhills Academy Knights with plenty of help from Legah, who went 11-for-18 to rack up 30 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists. His evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Ahasteen, who posted six points and three steals. He is becoming a predictor of St. Michael's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 2-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't).

St. Michael's record is now 7-10. As for Greyhills Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Michael will face off against Red Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Redskins have now posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Greyhills Academy, they will challenge Hopi at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will be up against the Bruins' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.08 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
