Scotland County proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Marceline 8-7. Scotland County has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Marceline, too.

Vincent Dale was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. Layne Stott also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Scotland County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Scotland County pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Marceline, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Scotland County will square off against Schuyler County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Marceline, they will challenge Brookfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
