Baseball Recap: Sycamore Wins Going Away Against Cheatham County Central

Sycamore never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Cheatham County Central Cubs 10-0. The War Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Conner Jones made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Benjamin Kimbrough was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Bradley Hudgens, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Sycamore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cheatham County Central only posted a batting average of .062.

The win made it two in a row for Sycamore and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cheatham County Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sycamore will take on White House-Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cheatham County Central, they will face off against McGavock at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
