Recap: Gadsden County Jaguars vs. Taylor County Bulldogs
The Gadsden County Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 44-34 to Taylor County. Gadsden County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Taylor County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Taylor County was led to victory by Jershila Glover and LeeAsia Johnson. Glover scored 13 points, while Johnson scored 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Taylor County's points.
Gadsden County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Taylor County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
Gadsden County will take on Madison County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Madison County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Gadsden County in Florida (Madison County is ranked 138th, while Gadsden County is ranked 444th). As for Taylor County, they will be playing at home against Godby at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
